Mark Young Outfitters gives you exclusive use of the Flying Shit House Ranch property and 3 other private ranches totaling 20,000 acres of pristine Augusta Montana hunting lands. We specialize in private land trophy whitetail, each year we take bucks in the 140 to 170 class. Included in the Montana private hunting grounds are archery zones where no rifle is allowed in any season allowing the perfect opportunity to take a trophy Montana whitetail, mule deer or antelope with a bow. In 2003-2005 we took our biggest deer from the archery only ranches. Hunts include lodging on the ranch in one of the restored cabins or stay in the ranch house and lodge. Antelope are plentiful on our ranches and are a hoot to call in with a decoy. Get both a deer and antelope in one hunt. Also available are professional taxidermists and meat cutters for your convenience. Mark is a licensed Montana outfitter so we can guarantee our clients a license. Book early in January to make certain you have all the paperwork completed by March 1st. All licenses are sold on the first-come, first-serve basis. Looking for a Montana private land gopher hunt? Come see us anytime in the spring through summer and shoot as many of these varmints as you want! About Us The Flying Shit House Ranch has been a working cattle ranch on the Rocky Mountain front in Montana for 75 years. My grandfather purchased the first ranch in the depression years. It was on that ranch that the brand Flying Shit House first originated (used to brand our cattle). In those early years this was mule deer country. It was in the '70s before I noticed the whitetail moving in. Now we have a large whitetail population. We run Angus cattle on a cow/calf operation. During the Fall hunting season, the guests witness the working and shipping end of the cattle operation. Augusta is a very small western cattle town with a couple of bars, 3 stores, 3 churches and a gas station all along a two-block main street laying along the Rocky Mountain Front. The Flying Shit House headquarters and Lodge is one-mile from main street but yet it is still in the country! We have two boys, Chase , Rhett, Britta . All the kids love to hunt and are busy athletic kids. The kids work on the ranch; we never look forward to school starting - the three extra set of hands are missed. Julie, my wife, keeps busy doing the books, helping out on the ranch when she can. We are all thankful God put us in this beautiful country and hope you will come visit us at the Flying Shit House Ranch. Whitetail Hunts All Private Land hunts are conducted on our four ranches totaling 20,000 acres of private ground along the majestic and famous Rocky Mountain Front at Augusta, Montana. The ranch has archery zones where no rifle hunting is allowed in any season. This is an excellent chance to take a trophy whitetail or mule deer with a bow. These archery areas are open during archery (Sept.) and rifle season (Oct.-Nov.). In September archers can take a trophy whitetail because the bucks are relaxed and have distinct feeding and watering patterns near the barley and alfalfa fields. Every year we take some excellent bucks in the 130 - 160+ class. To ensure better trophies in the future we have changed our deer harvesting requirements as follows: Both Archery & Rifle deer must be a 4 x 4 and score over 125 points Boone & Crockett. A $500 fee will be assessed to the hunter for shooting an immature deer. This will hopefully enable us to meet our goal for all hunters to harvest a 150 point B & C whitetail trophy! During the 2 week rut period we accomodate both archery and rifle hunters. For more information on Airlines and vehicle rentals, see the SERVICES Tab. We have three rustic cabins available for hunters, all with electricity, microwave, small frigerator and coffee makers. In the lodge are 2 inside baths or an Outhouse is near the cabins. Also in the Lodge is a kitchen, living room, 2 big bedrooms and utility room for the hunters use. There are 3 restaurants in Augusta (1 mile away) that give you a flavor of the local history and people. It is very convenient for the hunters to be able to eat around their own hunting schedule. Please see the SERVICES Tab for the available restaurants etc. Available are professional taxidermists and meat cutters for your convenience. It is the hunters responsibility to have the meat processed. If you do not take the meat home with you, we will give it away to a needy family-after you have paid for the processing. Montana is on license draw with abundance of license available. In 2011 all licensing will be done online. Please call either us (406)562-3250 or the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks at (406) 444-2950 for clarification. If a client wants special licenses for antelope you must be put on the mailing list at Montana FWP. Call MT FWP 406-444-2950 to be put on that list. A 50% deposit, preferably cashier's check made out to MARK YOUNG OUTFITTING, is required by law when you book your hunt and the balance due on arrival. After we receive your deposit we will reserve your hunt and give you the instructions needed to get your license On-line with a credit card before March 15th.
